NSW: Man charged with murder over Marrickville stabbing death

SYDNEY, Dec 20 AAP - A 29-year-old man charged with the stabbing murder of a man in
Sydney's inner west was refused bail in court today.

Alen Imbrisak, 29, of Marrickville, appeared in Parramatta Local Court charged with
one count each of murder and maliciously inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Police were called to a Warren Road home in Marrickville about 7.30am (AEDT) on Wednesday
after reports a man had been stabbed.

They found a 44-year-old man with stab wounds to his torso.

He was taken to the Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital where he died yesterday from his injuries.

Imbrisak was arrested a short time later in a nearby street where police said they
also found a knife.

He had cuts to his arms and head and was taken to RPA for treatment.

Police interviewed Imbrisak after he was discharged from hospital yesterday and charged
him with murder.

He will appear in Sydney's Central Local Court on December 22.
