MELBOURNE, Jan 10 AAP - Brian Gilbertson was seen as the future of the $57 billionmerged BHP Billiton.
But just six months after taking the top job, he's now concentrating on a mountainwalk in the Tasmanian wilderness rather than running the world's largest diversified miner.
And the one-time Big Australian and now international heavyweight BHP Billiton hasto pay out its second chief executive in as many years, this time for as much as a record$30 million.
Now market watchers and investors want to know what happened.
